What Is Portion?

Portion is a novel Chemistry which is developed after thorough scientific research for the control of Mites at every stage of its life cycle. This feature of Portion will help farmers to control adult mites as well as the eggs and larva or nymphs of mites that cause major crop losses. Thus, Portion gives a longer duration control on mites.

How does Portion work on mites?

Portion is an acaracide with IGR (Insect Growth Regulator) and GABA (Gama-aminobutyric acid) stimulator mode of action. In simple words, Portion as an IGR inhibits the eggs from hatching and stops the nymphs which generally feed on sucking the sap from leaves, shoots and flowering, thus resulting in huge crop loss, from developing into the next stage of their life cycle.

As a GABA (Gama-aminobutyric acid) stimulator, it destroys the nervous system of the adult mites, which stops their feeding activity, paralyzes them, and eventually causes them to die. Hence Portion combats all stages of mites eggs, larva, nymphs, and adults.

Mites are the important non-insect pest giving big challenge to Indian farmers. Both nymphs and adults cause the damage in wide variety of crops viz, Chilli, Tomato, Brinjal, Cotton, Rice, Tea, Citrus, Apple, flowers in India.

Mites, the tiny, piercing-sucking insects can pose a significant threat to crops if it is overlooked and causing considerable damage and economic losses to farmers.

Farmers are using many acaricides to control this pest however faster multiplication in short period is a challenge to control it.
